“Sarah Barnhardt is a homegrown Carol Burnett of this generation.”
–Mary Martin Niepold, Winston-Salem Journal
“…such an engaging and charming presence, and a delicious,
mischievously funny aura about her at all times.”
–Michael Kamtman, director
Sarah Barnhardt is originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She received her BA in Studio Art from Salem College. While in NC, she performed as a film and stage actor, voiceover artist, stand-up comedian, improviser, and emcee. She is a founding member of the Comedy Potluck and Paper Lantern Theatre Company. She is most known for her role of June Sanders in Twin City Stage’s productions of the Smoke on the Mountain trilogy and for being the on-field entertainment host for the Winston-Salem Dash Baseball team.
She has performed stand-up comedy in Winston-Salem, Atlanta, Chicago, LA, New York, and London. (While the latter three were open mic nights, Sarah strongly believes that this qualifies her to claim international performer status.)
Now living and performing in Chicago, the majority of Sarah’s energy goes into performing and producing for The Comedy Dance Collective. Keep an eye out for the return of her one-woman sketch show, “THIS IS THE WORST.” Sarah is a graduate of the Second City Training Center’s Writing Program, Conservatory, and Music Program and has studied at The Annoyance and The Playground.
